These projects include the Rooma Chakeri-Chanderi third line project, the Jaunpur-Tulsi Nagar, Akbarpur-Ayodhya, Sohawal-Patranga, and Safdarganj-Rasauli sections of the Jaunpur-Ayodhya-Barabanki doubling project, and the doubling and electrification project of the Malhaur-Daliganj railway section. The inauguration also introduced Phase I of the improved Ayodhya Railway Station, now called Ayodhya Dham Junction Railway Station. Costing over ₹240 crore, this three-storey station is equipped with modern features such as lifts, escalators, food plazas, shops for puja needs, cloakrooms, child care rooms, and waiting halls. Importantly, the station is designed to be ‘accessible for all’ and aims to achieve ‘IGBC-certified green station building’ status.
5. Maharishi Valmiki International Airport Ayodhya Dham: A Grand Gateway
Another highlight of the transformation is the inauguration of the Maharishi Valmiki International Airport Ayodhya Dham, developed at a cost exceeding ₹1450 crore. The airport’s terminal building spans 6,500 square meters and is designed to cater to approximately 10 lakh passengers annually. The terminal’s facade pays homage to the upcoming Shri Ram Mandir in the city, showcasing temple architecture. Inside, the terminal is adorned with local art, paintings, and murals depicting the life of Bhagwan Shri Ram.
